About Us:

Backyard Orchards was founded by sisters, Allie Corcoran and Cassie Young. Both sisters are Auburn University graduates who moved back home to the family farm in Eufaula. As young children Cassie and Allie grew up around all sorts of crops: cotton, peanuts, soybeans, corn, grain sorghum, wheat, and cattle. Their family managed a peach orchard too. That is what inspired them to start their own orchard. It took a few years of planning and dreaming but soon became a reality. Backyard Orchards opened on April 10, 2010.

In October, they planted 3 acres of strawberries (about 43,000 plants) with two different varieties chandler and camarosa.

In November, it was time to plant blueberries. One acre (600 bushes) with six different varieties of rabbit-eye blueberries.

In February, the peach trees came in (all 23 varieties). There is about 10 acres (1,000 trees) of peaches.

Strawberries, peaches, and blueberries are the orchards main crop but they also have fresh vegetables including sweet corn, okra, peas, beans, squash, cucumber, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, and more.

The sisters have expanded the Orchard and now have a country store, kitchen and education center on the location.  The "barn" is opening many possibilities for events including birthday parties, showers, weddings, field trips, and cooperate events!
