Barr Ridge Farms

1341 Nicktown Hill Road

History:
Barr Ridge Farms was established in 1861 by Adam Lieb. Since then, it has been passed down and is now operating in the 5th and 6th generations, with Ralph and sons, Bob and Aaron.

We currently milk 200 Holstein cows and raise 130 replacement heifers.

Farming on about 600 acres, we are able to raise the majority of our own crops. (hay, soybeans, and corn). Originally, the field work was done with horses, and the first tractor (a John Deere B) was bought by Ralph's father, Herman.

We have a new fresh cow/dry cow barn as well as a 3 row free style barn, along with a double 12 milking center, including an attached special needs barn.

We hope you enjoy your time with us. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the dairy industry, our farm, or agriculture in general. We, as farmers, make every effort to inform the public about our industry.
